Alice J. Crawford, 93, of Fauncetown Rd., passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown.
Alice was born in Meadville on July 27, 1930, to the late Floyd O. and Lexie Reib Ray. She married George W. Crawford on July 29, 1950, in Chapmanville by Rev. Murray. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2007.
She attended Bradleytown, Black Ash, Sunville, Cochranton, and Titusville schools.
Alice was a homemaker who helped run the family dairy farm with her husband. Together, they hauled and sold milk in Cambridge Springs before changing to beef cattle.
Farming was always her passion, but she also enjoyed gardening, canning or freezing vegetables for winter use. She always had a positive attitude about life. She greeted everyone with a smile and showed kindness to all her family, friends, and neighbors.
Alice is survived by her two children, Gordon Crawford and wife Rickie of Townville, and Penny Dewey and husband David of Townville; a daughter-in-law Kay Crawford of Townville; grandchildren, Stephanie Miller and husband Matt, Annie Dewey and companion Ron Walters, Brian Dewey and wife Jen, Braden Crawford, Brent Crawford, Brad Crawford and wife Carrie, Brandon Crawford and companion Stacey Edwards; three step-grandchildren, Carter Walters and Gabby and Zach Miller great-grandchildren, Tyler, Madison, McKenna, Mylee Crawford, Garrett and Dylan Dewey, and Leah Crawford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, George M. "Mike" Crawford; four brothers, Floyd, John, Neil, and Glen Ray; a sister, Yvonne Maillard; and a step grandchild, Marlee Haylett.
Services will be private to the family.
Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.
