Anna Margaret "Sunnie" Clickett (née Eason), 82, passed away on March 10, 2025, in Evanston, Illinois.
Born on April 1, 1942, in Titusville, Pennsylvania, Sunnie lived a life of joy with lifelong friendships, passionate hobbies, and her family that meant the world to her. She lived almost all of her life in Titusville and spent most of the last few years with her daughter and son-in-law in Golf, IL, where she bravely fought cancer for nearly three years. She married Richard Clickett on October 23, 1965, and they spent 52 wonderful years enjoying life and family together until his passing.
She is survived by her four children: James Kirkwood II of Titusville, PA, Richard Kirkwood of Carlisle, PA, Kevin Clickett (Suzanne) of Milford, MI, and Kathleen Clickett Newsome (Robert) of Golf, IL; grandchildren: Alexa Kirkwood, Heather Charlesworth, Ishmael Kirkwood, Tyler Kirkwood, Jack Clickett and Lily Clickett; great-grandson Trenton Charlesworth; sisters Linda Kubiak and Sue Lindsay and families; and dozens of extended family and friends she held close to her heart.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard; parents George and Catherine Eason; parents-in-law Hugh and Lucille Clickett; loving daughter-in-law Cris Kirkwood; first husband James Kirkwood; and many friends who she loved as family.
Sunnie will be fondly remembered for her love of the game of bridge, for her artistic talents, and for her love of dancing with friends to the oldies. She was always on the go, playing in multiple bridge clubs, sewing custom draperies or re-upholstering furniture for others or for the Victorian home she & Richard restored, painting & crafting, or hosting family & friends any chance she could. She & Richard loved traveling to visit family and spent nearly 25 years going on an annual St. Patrick’s Day trip to Florida with dozens of friends; and those trips brought so much joy to them both. She had the world’s biggest sweet tooth, and those closest to her knew the easiest way to cheer her up was with a slice of banana cream pie.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date in Titusville, PA.
The family wishes to send their sincerest thanks to the doctors and medical staff at Kellogg Cancer Center in Evanston, IL, especially Dr. Hogg, Dr. Soto Chervin, Meg and Moe. Their unwavering commitment to Sunnie’s care and wellbeing gave her the strength and spirit to fight hard until the very end.
Sunnie’s memory will live on in all who loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks those who want to honor her memory to consider a donation in her name to Kellogg Cancer Center (NorthShore Hospitals Foundation) or to a charity of one’s choice.
