Anne Holquist Obituary

Dorothy Anne Greer Holquist, known to everyone as Anne, embarked on her final journey on May 21st, surrounded by the loving embrace of her family. Born in Oil City, PA, on March 13, 1930, to Frank and Ella (Prichard) Greer, she was close to her parents and considered her mother her best friend. Growing up an only child, Anne forged an unbreakable bond with her "Rouseville Girls," a tight-knit circle of lifelong friends who shared countless laughs and memories.

After graduating from Oil City High School, Anne moved to Titusville, PA, where her father opened a radiator shop. She went to work at Fisher & Young Lumber Co until she was married in 1951. Early on, they embraced military life at Fort Dix, NJ, before settling back in Titusville to raise a family. The chaos of eight children was undeniable, but Anne always considered being a mother her favorite accomplishment. Her love for her family was fierce and unwavering, extending to her 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, whose lives she eagerly followed, no matter how far they ventured.

Anne was a familiar face in the Titusville community and beyond. It became a running joke that no matter where she went, she ran into someone she knew! She was a long-time member of St. Titus Church, the Lioness Club, Girl Scouts, and the Titusville Hospital Auxiliary. Prior to her retirement, she worked at Lawson's Dairy Mart and later as the manager of Health Mart. In her pastime, she was an avid card club member and a self-taught pianist.

In her final hours, Anne reflected on her life with fondness, recalling the fun that was had. Those that knew and love her will fondly remember her for her sharp wit, strong sense of humor, and feisty spirit.

Anne's memory is carried on through her children: David (Linda) Holquist of Naperville, IL; Diane (Andrew) Biddy of Boyertown, PA; Dan (Kathy) Holquist of Fairview, PA; Susan Sparks of Titusville, PA; Beth Repasky of Oil City, PA; Craig Holquist of Titusville, PA; Ellen (Jack) McLaughlin of Sheffield, PA; and Barry Holquist of Titusville, PA.

She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren and their families: Kelly Holquist, Andrea (James) Guerra, Amber Shelgren, Noelle Biddy, Nancee (Dustan) Beers, Adam (Wren) Holquist, Ryan (Jennifer) Holquist, Stephanie (Nate) Donovan, Laura (Jill) Sparks, Emily (David) Graham, Lynn (Donny) McGarvie, Melissa Holquist, Morgan (Brad) Briggs, and Jessica (Bill) Moore.

She is also survived by her friends Doneva Hyde of Titusville, PA and Charlotte (Sneeze) Slater of Greenville, PA.

She is preceded in death by Bradley Holquist (grandson), Jacki McLaughlin (granddaughter), and Cameron Graham (great-grandson).
