Arnold U. Holmer, 75, of Pleasantville, passed away Saturday afternoon August 24, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
Arnold was born on December 9, 1948 in Bellevue, OH, a son of the late Urban F. and Wilma I. Wagner Holmer.
He was a graduate of Willard High School in Willard, OH.
Arnold was a veteran having served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He entered the service on February 12, 1968 in Norwalk, OH. He was honorably discharged to the Army Reserve on November 29, 1969 at Ft. Lewis, WA.
Arnold had been employed as an engineer with AT&T in Tulsa, OK.
Arnold had a strong faith and love of the Lord which directed his daily life. He had attended the Titusville First Baptist Church where he had taught Sunday school. He was a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association. He enjoyed four wheeling, fishing, hunting, and enjoying the outdoors.
Arnold is survived by a son, John Andrew Holmer and his wife Jeanette of Batavia, OH; grandchildren, Kylie and Colton Holmer; three sisters, Linda Rooker of Norwalk, OH, Carol Shephard of Plymouth, OH, and Kim Pottmeyer and husband Jim of Pickerington, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Arnold was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph “Joe” Holmer.
No public visitation or service will be observed.
The family asks that memorials be made to a charity of one’s choice that serves to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, a mission Arnold believed to be of the utmost importance.
