Audrey M. Knight

Audrey M. Knight, 90, of Ligonier, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday morning October 29, 2024 at Ligonier Gardens Personal Care Home.

Audrey was born on July 26, 1934 in Spartansburg, PA, a daughter of the late Berle and Lucille Cowles Rigby. She was married to Rev. Paul Knight on August 7, 1954 in Alliance, OH. He preceded her in death on August 23, 2013.

Audrey was a graduate of Colestock High School in Titusville.

Audrey was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She had attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA.

Being a pastor’s wife was her ambition and service to God. A devoted pastor’s wife and mother, she played the piano and organ, taught Sunday School, directed adult and children’s choirs, and made homemade pizza Sunday nights to reward her children for behaving in church. She was a baker, cook and fellowship planner. She could be described as the fruits of the spirit. She focused on what could be done and not be discouraged by the challenges. She found the positive in people and focused on how to help others see Gods love.

Audrey is survived by two daughters, Shila Matson and husband Mark of New Florence, PA and Paula Hyland and husband John of Mt. Vernon, OH; her step-mother, Dolores Rigby of Titusville; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; a brother, Gilbert Rigby and wife Penny of Knox; three sisters, Marjorie Stoke and husband Larry of Klamath Falls, OR, Kathryn Stadler and husband David of Pittsburgh, and Patricia “Patti” Gannon and husband Mike of Edinburg, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, PA 16354 on Monday, November 4, 2024 from noon to 1:00 PM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Rev. William Hopkins officiating.

Interment will be in Red Oak Cemetery.
