Barbara Anderson Obituary

Barbara E. Carr Anderson, 90, formerly of Erie, passed away on November 23, 2025, at Titusville Area Hospital, with her loving daughters by her side.

Barb was born on December 1, 1934, in Erie, a daughter of the late William and Hilda Saurs Carr. She married the love of her life Gustaf A. Anderson on July 14, 1951, in Erie. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2018.

She was a graduate of the Erie Academy.

Barb enjoyed being outside in the summer months soaking up the warm sun, reading historical and mystery books, completing crossword puzzles, and being with her grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Debra Penton of Titusville, Barbara Proper and husband Dwight of Titusville, Lynn Burger and husband Larry of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeffrey Anderson and wife Trish of Erie, Nicholas Anderson and wife Deanna of Erie, Gretchen Adams and husband Brian of Cleveland, OH; 15 grandchildren and their families, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; her brothers, William Carr of Texas and Thomas Carr of North Carolina; her close friend, Joan Lukens of Erie.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Carr and her infant granddaughter, Barbara Leigh Proper.

No services will be conducted at this time. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made in Babara's honor to the Benson Memorial Library, 213 N. Franklin St., Titusville, PA 16354.
