Barbara Ann Matthews

Barbara Ann Matthews, age 92 of DuBois, PA died Tuesday July 22,2025 at Christ the King Manor following a brief illness.

Born October 12, 1932 in Titusville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph S. Matthews and Irene Revitsky Matthews.

After graduating from Colestock High School, she went on to Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. and then to Ohio State University for her graduate nursing degree. Barbara went on to work as a registered nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD; Florida Mercy Hospital in Miami and Cleveland Medical Centers in Cleveland.

Barbara loved to read books, three a week until her passing and loved to watch sports on tv.

Barbara never married and is survived by 6 nieces and nephews, Terri Bortz of Curwensville, PA, Michael Matthews of DuBois Pa, Steve Matthews of DuBois, PA, Brian Matthews of Clearfield, PA, Jody Matthews of Orange Park, FL, and Karen Vicklund of Warfordsburg, PA.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents along with older brothers Joseph S. Matthews Jr., Harold R. Matthews and sister-n-law Barbara (Worden) Matthews.

As per Barbara’s wishes here will be no public visitation.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
