Mrs. Bonnie Yvonne Deane, 86, of Mystic Park Road, was born on September 4, 1938, a daughter of the late Frank E. and Dorothy A. (Hutchinson) Shontz in Rouseville, PA. She grew up there until the age of 10 when her father's lifetime dream of owning a farm became a reality in Black Ash. It was there where a strong foundation of hard work and family values were established for a good life.
She met her husband Duane while he was on leave from the US Marine Corps. After a whirl wind courtship they married in Centerville, PA, on July 5th, 1956. He was the love of her life. She joined him in North Carolina where he was stationed at Camp Lejeune. Upon returning to Titusville, she was an active Auxiliary member of the VFW Post 5958 where her husband Duane was serving as Commander.
Bonnie was a former employee of IGA and Riverside Market as a cashier. Bonnie was well known for her natural talent of decorating. She was a member and deaconess at the former Hydetown Baptist Church where her eye for design was instrumental in the upgrade of the sanctuary and holiday seasons.
She especially loved spending time with family. Her loving and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Duane and two daughters, Kim Cramer of Titusville, and Jill Hamilton of Little Cooley; her sister, Joyce A. Barr of Naples, FL; her five grandchildren, Andrew (Jessica) Hamilton, Adam (Marion) Hamilton, Sadie (Chad) Zuendel, Kayli (Josh) Bradick, and Hannah (Bretton) Hines; eleven great grandchildren, Bradley, Brooke, Addison, Mackenzie, Zaylee, Hunter, Brady, Cooper, Hayden, Emersyn and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Verna Roggenkamp, grandson Zachary Hamilton and nephew B.J. Barr.
All friends and family are welcome to attend a memorial service conducted by Charlie Castellucio at 2 PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the VFW Post 5958 in Titusville, with a luncheon to follow put on by the VFW 5958 Auxiliary.
