Can you hear the angels sing? "Here we go, Steelers, here we go!"
Bradley Scott Wescoat, 67, of Titusville, PA, was peacefully called home to Heaven on Monday, June 10, 2024, at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie, surrounded by his loving family. Brad was taken by a rare and aggressive type of frontotemporal dementia.
Brad was born on July 27, 1956, in Titusville to James H. Wescoat and the late Winifred "Winnie" Harvey Wescoat and was lovingly raised by Jim and Margery "Marge" Wescoat. He was happily married to Kimberly Beightol Wescoat for more than 40 years.
Brad was a graduate of Titusville High School, Class of 1974. He received his associate's degree in accounting from Clarion University. He put that degree and his intense work ethic to good use at Vertical Seal Company for over 30 years, working his way up the ranks to office manager/sales for a large portion of those years. He played a pivotal role in helping to advance the still-thriving steel company.
Brad was a member of the Titusville Methodist Church and had a strong personal relationship with Christ, often bonding with God through people and nature. He especially loved time at the family hunting camp nestled in the Colorado Rockies. Brad often used his God-given gift of providing comfort to those who needed it most through his talent in finding the perfect words to help heal hearts through prayer.
His personality could best be described as easy-going and magnetic. Whether he was making friends in an amusement park line or being the social butterfly at the latest gathering, he loved developing and nurturing connections, especially with his family.
Brad was very active throughout his life. He enjoyed basketball, softball, and especially tennis. Brad and Kim could be found early in their relationship in the wee hours of the morning, playing tennis under the lights, with the girls joining them on the courts as their family grew.
He had a passion for all genres of music and had an epic soundtrack, which anyone within a mile radius of him probably already knew, even if he was in his beanbag chair with headphones on. His tunes were always playing, whether he was showing his silly side singing, going on long rides "lookin' for Lillup," or relaxing on his porch swing.
Brad is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Wescoat of Stafford, VA, and Lori Wescoat-Hayes, and wife, Lisa Wescoat-Hayes, of Edinboro, his twin grandsons, Logan and Trent Hayes, both of Edinboro, his best friend, Kimberly Wescoat, of Stafford, VA, his father, James "Big Jim" Wescoat, of Titusville, and his three brothers, Mark Wescoat, and wife, Cindy, of Idaho Falls, ID, Timmy Wescoat, and wife, Wendy, of Titusville, and Jimmy Wescoat of Titusville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Brad was preceded in death by his moms, Winnie Harvey Wescoat and Marge Burdick Wescoat, and also his brother, Daniel "Big Dan" Wescoat.
Brad's visitation will be held at Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm.
A private interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration at classy.org/give/381228/#!/donation/checkout. We truly hope funds to this association and others like it will help bring awareness to this rare behavioral form of frontotemporal dementia and help families in the future to identify and treat this type of degenerative disease quicker than we were able to.
