Cecilia Marie Motter, 89, of Titusville, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, February 17, 2025.
Cecilia was born in Oil City on September 25, 1935, to the late Stanley and Stella Kazanecki Sobrowski . She married Richard E. "Dick" Motter on August 21, 1954, in Oil City. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2015.
She was a graduate of Oil City High School, Class of 1953.
Cecilia worked at GTE Sylvania in Pleasantville for 25 years, retiring in 1991.
She was a member of St. Titus Church.
She participated in bowling leagues and was obsessed with her garden and trees. She received Garden Club Garden of the Year in 2017. She loved going to the casino with her husband and loved to be with her family.
Cecilia is survived by her two children, Vickie Orr and husband Greg of Titusville, and Richard A. Motter and wife Colleen of New York; ten grandchildren, Joab Orr and wife Kristin of Cooperstown, Ashley Hunt fiancé Kevin Schulz of Pleasantville, Scott Motter and wife Danielle of Ashville, NY, Amanda Shanter and husband Keith of Bettendorf, IA, Heather Jenckes of Harrisburg, NC, Carrie Mangione and husband Joe of Warren, Craig Hetrick of Tidioute; Chris Orr and wife Beckie of Cochranton, Phil Orr and wife Jenn of Guys Mills, and Adam Orr of Titusville; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Hazlett and husband Oakley of Oil City, Patty Fiely and husband Robert of Rockingham, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Marie Hetrick; a grandson, Matthew Hetrick; a great-granddaughter, Trisha Hetrick; her siblings, Virginia Swoger, Connie Fay, Stanley Sobrowski, and an infant sister Frannie Sobrowski.
Services will be private for the family.
Interment will be at St. Catharine's Cemetery.
