Chester C. Book, Jr., 72, of Oleopolis, passed away at his residence on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
Chester was born in Ellwood City on March 8, 1952, to the late Chester C. Book, Sr. and Betty Lee Witte Book.
He was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City and Lawrence County Vocational Technical School.
Chester worked in various fields, including as a welder in the steel mill, a laborer for Marshall Tree Service, and as a maintenance worker at a golf course. He was last employed as a transport driver for Manheim Pittsburgh Auto Auction in Cranberry.
He was a member of the Oil City Eagles, PNA, and Pulaski Club.
Chester enjoyed floating on the river, was an avid Steelers fan, and liked taking rides on back roads. He enjoyed nature, hiking, cross-country skiing, biking, joking, and cooking. He always had a welcoming smile for everyone.
Chester is survived by two daughters, Kayla M. Barr and husband Russell of Ellwood City and Monica Book of Florida; three grandchildren, Dailonn, Vincenzo, and Arabella Currie, all of Ellwood City; step-grandchildren, Lincoln and Avery Barr of Ellwood City; Braden Book and Lynne McCune of Florida; his best friend and companion, Cynthia "Cindy" Forbes of Titusville; a brother Dana C. Book of Ellwood City; his special friends, Barry and Jackie Watson of Pleasantville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Book.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 3 to 5 p.m. at National Grind Coffee & Tea Shop, 435 Lawrence Ave, Ellwood City, PA 16117.
A second celebration of life will take place at Oleopolis this summer and will be announced at a later date.
