Daniel R. Wolfe, Jr., 75, of Pleasantville, passed away Thursday evening March 20, 2025 at his home following a brief battle with cancer.
Dan was born on March 16, 1950 in Youngstown, OH, a son of the late Daniel and Ethel Clapper Wolfe. He was married to Kathleen Wyza on May 4, 1974 in New Castle.
Dan was a graduate of the Girard High School in Girard, OH, class of 1968. He was a veteran having served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He entered the service on August 27, 1969. He was honorably discharged on August 11, 1971 at Ft. Lewis, WA after returning from overseas.
Dan had been employed at Weyerhaeuser in Titusville for over 30 years as a machine operator until his retirement from there in 2012.
Dan was a life member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was proud to have built his own home. He was also known as a prankster.
Dan is survived by his wife Kathy of Pleasantville; his grandson, Trenton Wolfe of New Castle, PA; a brother, Jack E. Wolfe and wife Eva of Antler, OK; three sisters, Theresa Misemer of New Port Richey, FL, Beverly Kuzan and husband Joe of Youngstown, OH, and Deborah Bell and husband Gary of Warren, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerrod D. Wolfe; a brother, Frederick Carl Wolfe; and nephews, Edward Wolfe, Brandon Smithburger, Shane Ledsome and Dustin Bell.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Wednesday March 26th from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at which time the funeral service and military service will be conducted by officers and members of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW.
Interment will be in Neilltown Cemetery.
