Danny L. Metzgar, 72, of Wrightsville, PA formerly of Pleasantville passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at his home.
He was born October 1, 1951 in Pleasantville, a son of the late Ora L. and Bea (Shields) Metzgar.
Danny was a graduate of Titusville High School. He married Wanda Hollabaugh in January of 1973. They just celebrated their 50th anniversary, and she survives.
He worked as a machinist and plant manager for 30 years. He had been employed at Windy Hills Farm, Joy Manufacturing, Grand Valley Manufacturing and Allied Roll. He had also worked as a junior fire fighter for the Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department.
Danny enjoyed hunting and fishing. His last big fishing trip in September was with his son Richard who arranged the fishing trip to North East, PA. It was a successful day with all of them catching their limit.
Danny is survived by his wife of Wrightsville; 3 children, Holly Metzgar of Wrightsville, Cheryl (Shawn) Thomas of Guys Mills, Richard (Lindsey) Metzgar of Wrightsville; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Connie Wright of Pleasantville, Nancy Masiker of Titusville, Betty (Bill) McKlveen of Pleasantville; sister-in-law, Janice (Doug) Hart of Townville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dale E. Metzgar; his father and mother-in-law, Richard “Dick” and Patricia Hollabaugh; grandparents-in-law, George and Stella Fredricks; sisters-in-law, Kathleen James, Christine Zakostelecky; and brother-in-law, John E. Wright.
