David A. Schwartz, 74, of Titusville, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at his residence with his loving wife and caregiver by his side.
David was born in Titusville on March 20, 1950, to the late John J. and Ruth Marie Crawford Schwartz. He married Joanne Scala on May 27, 2000, in Las Vegas at the Little Church of the West.
He was a graduate of Titusville High School, Class of 1968.
David worked as a machinist at Quaker State, Oil Creek Plastics for 18 years, and Tige-Boats in Abilene, TX, where he retired.
He became a believer in 2003 and attended Grace Fellowship Church. He never wavered in his faith through his illness and never complained as he battled two kinds of cancer, Parkinson's, and Lewy body dementia. He never asked, "Why me?" and always said, "It's in the lord's hands."
He was a modest man who loved in a quiet yet profound manner. David possessed a wonderful sense of humor and was known for his sharp comebacks.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne of Titusville; his children, Shelly Cartney and husband Todd of Titusville, David A. Schwartz, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Titusville, Eddie Cann and wife Renee of Dover, DE, and Gabriel Olmstead and husband Brad of Moseley, VA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, James Craig Schwartz and wife Kris of Pleasantville; two sisters-in-law, Christine Van Brabant of Titusville, and Marianne Baker and husband Dan of Titusville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his favorite aunt, Vi Bohin, and best friend, John Bauer.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14th, at 1 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church 2 McKinney Rd. Titusville, with Pastor Jeff Barnett officiating. There will be a time when stories about Dave will be shared, and the family asks those who can please share.
Memorial contributions can be made to Grace Fellowship Church 2 McKinney Rd. Titusville, PA 16354 or a charity of one's choice.
The family would like to thank their neighbors, Jim and Julie Cook and Cheyenne Gutberlet, for all of their help and support, as well as Dave's caregiver, Donna Miller, who loved him as much as he loved her.
