Donald G. Matteson

Donald G. Matteson, 66, of Titusville, passed away at his residence on Friday, March 14, 2025, after a battle with cancer.

Don was born in Titusville on March 22, 1958, to the late Howard E. and Martha Nichols Matteson. He married Bridget Aucter on February 14, 2015, at Rometown Community Church.

He was a graduate of Titusville High School, Class of 1976.

Don hauled cars in Michigan in his younger years, did over-the-road trucking, was a partner in Matteson Equipment until it ceased operation, and was currently the president and owner of Matteson Forest Products.

He attended church at Rometown Community Church.

Don was a dedicated worker who recognized the potential in everyone he encountered. He cherished spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren. He also loved his dog, Buddy.

Don is survived by his wife and best friend, Bridget of Titusville; three children, Lissa Aucter of Titusville, Tavo Aucter and wife Savannah of New Brighton, PA, and Chris Aucter of Beaver, PA; three grandchildren, Lane, Liliana, and Mateo; his siblings, Howard E. Matteson, and wife Fran of Sebring, FL, Bern Matteson and wife Linda, Ruth Watson and husband Bob both of Centerville, Patricia Rettkowski and husband Gale of Wilbur, WA; and Dr. Carol Jean Matteson of Brandon, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc., 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, on Monday, March 17th from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Tim Harger officiating.
