Douglas Billig

Douglas T. Billig, 73, of Titusville passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at the Titusville Area Hospital following a brief illness.

Doug was born on March 6, 1949, in Titusville to the late Gerald T. and Maxine Mae (Downey) Billig. He married Gail Fenton on July 28, 1973.

He was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1967. He also served in the Army National Guard.

Doug was employed as a surveyor with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 35 years until his retirement.

He was a member of the Titusville Lodge #754 F&A.M., Union City Country Club, and AA where he had 34 years of sobriety.

Doug liked to read, do crossword puzzles, and sudoku. He was an avid golfer and played several days a week, including the Monday morning Mt. Hope Men's Golf League, the Tuesday night Men's League at Union City Country Club. He also took pride in caring for the outside of his home. Vacationing with his family was a joy!

Doug is survived by his wife Gail of Titusville; his children, Katie Witosky of Titusville, Scott Billig and wife Michelle of Landisville, PA; 4 grandchildren, Ty Witosky, Smith Billig, Crosby Billig and Gwendolyn Billig; 3 brothers, Bruce Billig, Darryl Billig and wife Debbie both of Titusville, Dennis Billig of Shreveport, LA; a sister, Sharen Romaniszyn and husband Neil of Titusville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Billig.

Visitation will be at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354 on Saturday, January 14th from 10 a.m. to noon with a memorial service to follow at 12 conducted by his sister-in-law, Beth Mather.
