Duane "Cutt" Russ

Duane "Cutt" Russ, 89, of Pittsfield passed away Friday evening September 19, 2025 at his home following an extended illness.

Cutt was born on May 12, 1936 in Endeavor, PA, the second son of Merton and Phyllis Walters Russ.

He was a graduate of Hickory High School.

He was married in the spring of 1967 to Judy Russ who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Clint Russ and companion Julie Davis of Warren, and Byron "Barney" Russ of Pittsfield; a daughter, Loretta Russ of Nashville, TN; and grandsons, Jacob and Riley Russ.

Also surviving are two brothers, Larry Russ of Kelletville and Steven Russ of Endeavor; and a sister Marlene Luvison of Youngsville.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ronald, Randall, Gerald and Cyril Russ; and four sisters, Carol Russ who died in infancy, Avonelle Rudolph, Linda Dorsek and Arlene Russ.

As a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Jointers of America Locals 1014 and 947, he strongly supported worker's rights.

He was a member of the PA Trappers Association and enjoyed many hours in autumn and winter laying out and following his traplines.

He will be returned to Forest County with private interment at Kiffer Hill Cemetery.
