Edward Bedow Obituary

Edward J. Bedow Sr., 77, of Grand Valley, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Ed was born in Titusville on September 17, 1947, to the late John and Lucille "Gloria" Endres Bedow.
He graduated from Titusville High School in 1965 and was a veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He enlisted in September 1965 and received an honorable discharge with the rank of Corporal in 1967.

Ed worked for Grand Valley Manufacturing and later Universal Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. in the hot mill until the plant's closure.

He was a Cleo J. Ross Post 368 American Legion and Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW member.
His friends knew Ed as "Fish." He was an avid hunter specializing in turkey calling and attending several state competitions. If he wasn't hunting, he was fishing. He had a passion for race cars and street racing.

Ed was an enthusiastic bowler who participated in leagues at Lin Van Lanes. His impressive "300" score remained unmatched for many years. In his youth, he loved baseball and led a very active lifestyle, ensuring there was never a dull moment.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Brenda Goodwill Bedow; his children, Melissa Hutchinson and husband Mike, Ed Bedow, Jr., Kayla Forish and husband Matt, Kyle Bedow and wife Haley; his sisters-in-law Cassie Endres, and Jenine Goodwill; a brother in law, Kevin Goodwill and partner Ricky Shumpert; lifelong best friend, Charles "Tuny" Shaffer; five grandchildren, Tyler Drake and wife Nicole, Hunter Crabtree, James Griffin, Charlotte Forish, and Bo Bedow; three great-grandchildren, Trevor, Ellianna, and Carter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, John Endres, Jack Bedow, Kathy Lamey, and Jeanne "Pix" Hathaway.

Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. on Saturday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at which time a funeral service will be conducted with full military honors being observed.

Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
