Edward L. Schneider, 77, of Saegertown, PA, formerly of Titusville, PA, passed away peacefully, after a battle with cancer, on June 4th at the VA Medical Center in Erie. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and proud great-grandfather.
Born on April 12, 1949, in Titusville, PA, he was the son of the late Clara Lammers Schneider. He was a 1969 graduate of Colestock Titusville High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He entered service on September 5, 1969, and was honorably discharged on September 4,1973, as a Pharmacy Technician.
On August 26, 1972, he married the love of his life, Patricia McAlevy. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. Ed was a member of Saint Walburga Church in Titusville, PA.
Throughout his career, Ed worked for several businesses in the Titusville and Oil City areas, including Universal Stainless Alloy Products in Titusville, PA, until his accident in 1999.
Ed’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his four-legged faithful companion Mindy. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, creating countless memories with those he loved.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Schneider of Saegertown; son Joseph Schneider of Union City, his wife Darla, and their children, Tyler Schneider, his wife, Danielle, and their daughters, Sofia and Gracelynn; Macoy Elias and his daughters, Peyton and Zoey; Mason Elias; son Derek Schneider of Cranberry Township, his wife, Jessica, and their daughters, Mykaela and Ciara; son Jamie Schneider of Saegertown, his wife, Michelle, and their sons, Bryce, Ian and Fletcher; and son David Schneider of Titusville, his wife Jessica, and their sons, Blake and Brant. He is also survived by his sister Susan Isabella and her husband, Jerry, of Pleasantville; his brother Richard Schneider of Titusville; his cherished Uncle, Robert Giffin of Erie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Heather; his brother, Michael; and his sister, Lillian Wright.
The family will receive friends at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Monday, June 15th from noon to 1:00 PM at which time a memorial service will be conducted with Pastor Scott Kennedy officiating.
