Evelyn M (Olson) Oakes

Evelyn M. Oakes, 90, of Titusville, passed away Thursday morning May 30, 2024 at Southwoods Assisted Living Community

. Evelyn was born on March 23, 1934 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Leo and Hazel Stevenson Olson. She was married to Willard Oakes in 1968 at the Titusville First Baptist Church.

Evelyn was a graduate of Colestock High School, class of 1952. Soon after graduation, she became employed at National Fuel Gas from where she retired in 1990.

Evelyn was a member of the Titusville First Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Titusville Garden Club.

Evelyn enjoyed gardening, cooking, entertaining, playing golf and bowling.

She is survived by her husband Willard of Titusville; sisters-in-law, Caroline Oakes of Carlsbad, CA and Henrietta Olson of Erie; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Duane and Martha Oakes of Titusville; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Jean Olson; two brothers, Olen A. Olson and Malcolm “Mel” Olson; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Oakes.

A private service will be conducted for the family at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, PA 16354.
