Gayle Baily Obituary

Gayle Elizabeth Robeson Parks Baily, 81 of Titusville, PA passed away unexpectedly at the Titusville Hospital on July 28, 2025.

Born on April 29, 1944, in Williamsburg, PA, Gayle lived a full and vibrant life defined by her strong work ethic, her devotion to family, and her resilience in overcoming obstacles that would defeat many others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Galen Robeson and Elizabeth Miller Robeson, and her beloved daughter, Rhonda Chappel.

She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, James Baily; her son, Terry Parks and his wife Tammy; her grandsons, Anthony "TJ" Parks, and Hayden Chappel; her granddaughter, Taylor Poll and her husband Ethan; and the newest family addition, great-grandson, Theodore Marshall Poll; her son-in-law, Jonas Chappel. Also surviving are siblings-in-law, Richard Baily and wife Lori, Jan Baily and Cindy Goodman, and Leslee Baily, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In 1982, Gayle opened the deli and bakery at Riverside in Titusville, where she built a loyal following with her warmth and ability to engage others. Later, she served as the office manager and certified mastectomy fitter at Colburn Orthopedic in Franklin, where she supported women recovering from breast cancer. Having been a breast cancer survivor herself, Gayle's work was personal and it was her mission to help survivors reclaim a sense of self and strength during their recovery journeys.

Gayle will be remembered for her playful nature and competitive spirit, especially when it came to playing cards with her family. This tradition, occurring during family gatherings, provided for much laughter and good-hearted banter over many decades. Whether a shared joke, words of encouragement, or simply reveling in the "yumminess" of her secret deviled egg recipe, she leaves an enduring imprint composed of everyday moments.

Gayle enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved going to the casino with her dear friend, Kay O'Neil, playing bingo, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, and catching up with friends on the phone. In high school, she was a spirited cheerleader, small in stature but full of energy. As friends fondly recalled and as written in her high school yearbook, "She's small, but so is a stick of dynamite," a phrase that captured her boundless energy and big personality throughout her life. Gayle's loyalty to family and friends was unwavering and impressively long-lasting, including childhood friendships that spanned decades.

Per Gayle's wishes, there will be no formal service, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date so that friends and family can gather to remember and honor her.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cherrytree Volunteer Fire Department 1311 Cherrytree Rd. Titusville, PA 16354.

Gayle will be deeply missed by all who knew her and remembered for her strength, warmth, and the joy she brought into every room.
