Gordon L. "Skip" Cook, 83, of Pleasantville, PA, passed away Monday afternoon March 23, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family following an extended illness.
Skip was born on August 20, 1942 in Oil City, PA, a son of the late Leroy and Dora Burt Cook. He was married to Charlotte Mallory on November 25, 1961 in Frewsburg, NY.
Skip was a graduate of Oil City High School, class of 1960. Skip was owner of Cook's Machine Work in Pleasantville for many years.
He was a member of Mt. Carmal Tabernacle in Dempseytown. He was also a member of the former Pleasantville Sportsmans Club and a member of the NRA. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and family gatherings. He was an avid reloader and a vendor at many gunshows. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
Skip is survived by his wife Charlotte of Pleasantville; children, Chris Cook and wife Julie of Pleasantville and Shelly Carter of Titusville; a son-in-law, Bill Cherry of Pleasantville; grandchildren, T.J. Cherry and Chaliece of Pleasantville, Kayla Riley and Brenden of Pleasantville, Reise Cook and Sara of Bethel Park, Shawna Goodwill and Chris of Titusville, and Kearstin Kay of Franklin; great grandchildren, Adyson, Bri and Aleah Cherry, Andrew and Natalie Riley, MaKaylee Carter, Christopher Goodwill and Octavia Kay; brothers, Terry Cook and wife Ginger of Palm City, FL and Craig Cook of Oil City; sisters, Vera Haney of California and Kaye Manchi of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Tina Cherry.
The family will receive friends at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, PA 16354 on Thursday, March 26th from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at which time a memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Dana Lewis of Mt. Carmel Tabernacle officiating.
The family asks that memorials be made to Visiting Nurses Association of Venango County, Hospice 491 Allegheny Blvd. Franklin, PA 16323 or to the charity of one's choice.
