Gordon Hunter Kester "Gordie", 68, of Titusville passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 peacefully at his home.
Gordie was born on June 15, 1956 in Springville, New York a son of Harland Kester and Jane Handforth.
Gordie was a graduate of West Valley High School where he enjoyed playing basketball, baseball and football. As a youth, he was involved in the Jr Grange, the United Methodist Youth Fellowship, as well as Cub and Boy Scouts.
Throughout the years, Gordie built a career in the hardwood lumber industry. Starting as a laborer at a yard in his home state of New York. He then attended grading school at NHLA in Memphis, TN. He spent some time as a grader in Orange, MA, and eventually hung his hat in Pennsylvania where he was a manager at Bailie Lumber for 25 years.
Although Gordie found joy in many aspects of life, he especially enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, and soaking up the sun while fishing along the Gulf of Florida, especially on Anna Marie Island.
Most who knew him would agree he was a man with a witty sense of humor and could easily fill room with laughter.
