Irvin L. Patterson, 94, of Pleasantville, passed away Monday morning July 21, 2025 at the Titusville Area Hospital.
Irvin was born on May 11, 1931 in Patton, PA, a son of the late Gordon and Josephine Deliperre Patterson. He was married to Sara Osborne on May 5, 1956. She preceded him in death on February 1, 2015.
Irvin was a graduate of Oil City High School. He was a veteran having served in the US Navy. He entered the service in 1950 and was honorably discharged in 1954.
Irvin had worked in the rolling mill at the former Cyclops Specialty Steel Corporation from where he retired.
He was a member of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Elder Statesmen Golf League and of the Pleasantville Lions Club. He enjoyed playing tennis, golf and pickleball. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan and loved cheering on Aaron Judge and Scottie Scheffler.
Irvin is survived by his children, Randy Patterson and wife Bethany of Charlotte, NC and Susan Schwab of Medina, OH; grandchildren, Travis Schwab of Heath, OH, Tyler Schwab and wife Carrie of Powell, OH, Tiffany Hatfield and husband Robert of Cary, NC, Alleta Patterson of New York City and Siri Patterson of Charlotte, NC; great grandchildren, Lily, Owen, Allyson and Jacob Schwab, and Nathan Hatfield; his brother, Dave Patterson and wife Jane of Statesville, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Fred Schwab; his sisters, Victoria "Vickey" Carnes and Jean Tobin; and his brothers, Richard and Gordon Patterson.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, PA 16354 on Thursday, July 31th from 5-7 PM. A funeral will be held the following day beginning at 11 AM, with Rev. Carrie Schwab officiating.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
