Jackalyn A. Samonsky, 83, of Titusville, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Titusville Healthcare and Rehab Center.
Jackalyn was born on November 7, 1942, in Fertigs, PA, to the late Dwight and Doris Lewis Boocks. She married John H. "Jack" Samonsky III on November 2, 1963, in Oil City, PA.
She was a graduate of Cranberry High School, Class of 1960. Following graduation, Jackie attended the Oil City Hospital School of Nursing, where she received her Registered Nurse certification. Jackie worked for several years as an operating room nurse until retiring to dedicate her life to raising her family.
Jackie was very active in the Titusville community. She was a member of the Titusville First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon, led Bible studies, played handbells, and helped organize and prepare funeral dinners for many years. She was also involved with the Christian Women's Club, Associated Charities, and TOPS.
Jackie loved to spend time with her family. She also enjoyed singing, baking, reading, and traveling to the beach.
She is survived by her husband, Jack of Titusville; son, John H. Samonsky IV and wife, Kristen of New Market, MD; son, James S. Samonsky and wife, Christine of Titusville; and daughter, Jennifer D. Samonsky and husband, Jason Daniels of Garner, NC; five grandchildren, John H. Samonsky V, Tyler S. Samonsky, Olivia J. Samonsky, Sam J. Samonsky, and Alexander J. Samonsky; siblings, Rev. Gale Boocks and wife Donna, and Linda Stevenson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her siblings, Constance Knight, and Dwight Boocks, Jr., and her nephew Damon Stevenson.
A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Titusville First Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m.
