James A. "Jim" Anthony, 68, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the VA Hospital in Pittsburgh.
James was born on November 22, 1954, in Oil City to the late Reuben T. and Lila Mae Barnes Anthony.
Jim attended Wattsburg High School. He was a veteran having served in U.S. Army. He served in Alaska for two years and later the Army National Guard.
Jim worked as an over the road truck driver hauling cars for Allied Trucking and was last employed by Klapec Trucking.
He was a member of National Rifle Association.
Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing, making muskets, restoring old tractors, and being with his family.
He is survived by his son David Anthony and wife Cherity of Westmoreland, TN; a daughter, Sarah Lynch and husband Johnathon of Franklin, KY; siblings, Hugh Anthony and wife Elizabeth of Erie, and Diane Gavitt and husband Steven of Tampa, FL; seven grandchildren, Allison, Randy, Dylan, Brookelyn, Daniel, and Jarret Anthony, and Moriah Lynch; a great grandson Wesley Russell; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by a grandson Robert Anthony; two brothers, Daniel "Joe", and Gene Anthony.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11 a.m. to noon at which time a military service will be conducted.
Interment will be at Union Cemetery.
