James L. Toy

James L. "Jim" Toy, 72, of Chapman Rd. Pleasantville, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at his residence.

Jim was born on September 17, 1950, in Girard, OH, to the late Harvey C. and Ann E. Fabian Toy. He married Karen S. Warner on August 2, 1980, in Titusville.

He was a graduate of Girard High School, Class of 1969.

Jim installed carpet in his younger years while living in Girard, OH, and worked in maintenance for 29 years at the former Golden Living Center in Titusville.

He was a member of Titusville Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW, Titusville Moose Lodge 84, Bass Master's Sportsman's Society, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding ATV's, photography, and being with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Karen of Pleasantville; two brothers in law, Brian Warner and wife Brenda, and Jerry Warner and wife Denise both of Titusville; two sisters in law, Joy Snyder and husband Eddie, and Sheila Reed and husband Bob both of Titusville; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother Harvey C. Toy, Jr.

Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. on Thursday, August 17th from noon to 2 p.m. at which time a funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Leroy Learn, officiating.
