Jane Rodgers Maybray went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 30, 2024. She was born in Salem, NJ, on December 31, 1935.
After graduating from high school, she went to nursing school. She met and married Clayton Rodgers in her second year of training after falling in love with his wonderful telephone voice. They raised their family in Oil City, PA, before moving to Jupiter, FL. After 28 years of marriage, Clayton was killed in a car accident. Years later, Jane reconnected with her former pastor, Virgil Maybray. They were married in 1993.
Jane was devoted to her family. She was a woman of strong faith and was very active in her church. She loved her big family, bragging about her many grandchildren & great-grandchildren, and prayed daily for all of her family by name. No matter where she went, Jane impacted the lives of everyone around her with her compassionate and giving heart. Jane was a social butterfly. With her sassy, spunky attitude, infectious laugh, and fun sense of humor, she was quick to make lasting friendships.
She is survived by her three children, Clay Rodgers (Leslie), Lisa (Mark) Hockman, and Michelle (Rob) Prendergast; three stepchildren, Jon (Joy) Maybray, Bonnie (Ray) O'Neil, Tim (Lisa) Maybray, and Melanie Maybray; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Clayton Rodgers and Virgil Maybray; her stepson, Mark Maybray; her two sisters, Sallie Bertles and Kathy Cromer; her two granddaughters, Ashley Rodgers and Nicolette Hockman; and step-granddaughter, Sarah Bronson.
Funeral services will be held at Titusville Free Methodist Church in Titusville, PA, on January 7, 2025. Viewing will be at 11 a.m. and the service will start at 12 p.m. All are welcome.
