Jean E. Sowles, 75, of Pleasantville, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning March 21, 2025 at the Titusville Area Hospital.
Jean was born on July 14, 1949 in Wilmington, DE, a daughter of the late David and Ruth Demmler Benner. She was married to Michael E. Sowles on September 15, 1973 at Hearts Content.
Jean was a graduate of Avonworth High School, class of 1967 and earned her bachelor’s degree at Allegheny College, class of 1971.
She and her husband operated the family logging business for a number of years. Jean enjoyed gardening, taking short trips to places like Chautauqua Lake, and earlier in life enjoyed her many pets.
Jean is survived by her husband Mike of Pleasantville; a brother-in-law, Richard Sowles and his wife Cathy of Russell, PA; a sister-in-law, Sandra Benner of St. John’s, Newfoundland; a niece, Krista Spencer and a nephew, Bryant Benner, both of St. John’s, Newfoundland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Andrew Benner who is interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
No services will be conducted at this time.
