Jerry C. McNierney

Jeremy C. "Jerry" McNierney, 82, formerly of Titusville, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at The Grove at New Wilmington.

Jerry was born on January 7, 1942, in Titusville to the late Leon J. and Eleanor Bronson McNierney.

He graduated from St. Joseph's Academy, Class of 1959. He attended Georgetown University and graduated in 1963 with a degree in Philosophy. After attending Georgetown Law School for a year, Jerry joined the Peace Corps from 1965 to 1967.

Jerry was a veteran serving in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1970 during the Vietnam War.
After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Jerry worked at McNierney's Music Store until 1979. He then left for Loyola College in Baltimore, MD, where he worked in the Physical Plant Department for nearly 20 years, retiring in 1998.

He was a member of St. Titus Church, Knights of Columbus Council 492, Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW, and the former Titusville PNA Club.

He is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jerry was preceded in death by three brothers, William F. McNierney, Dr. Bronson J. McNierney, and Stephen W. McNierney; two sisters, Clara Doyle and Margaret McPhillips; and a close friend, Peggy Nunn.

A graveside service will be conducted at the chapel at St. Catharines Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024.

Interment will be at St. Catharines Cemetery.
