Jill P. Bradley, 82, of Chester, WV passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025 after a brief illness.
Born on July 31, 1942 to the late Lloyd and Adalaide Preston she was raised in Centerville, PA. Jill graduated from Townville High School in 1960. She was the 2nd Strawberry Queen and the oldest in age, something she was very proud of. Jill raised her family in Titusville for many years before moving to West Virginia and pursuing her passion for horses and wildlife. She married her high school sweetheart Leroy Cecil Bradley and together they raised Miniature Horses and bred WV Thoroughbred Racehorses. Jill was a natural with animals and could be found many times with a lost chipmunk, raccoon, squirrel or kitten that needed her love. She enjoyed the peace and quiet of the mountains and she never missed her Sunday TV sermons! Jill touched many lives with her words of wisdom and her nonjudgmental way of thinking. She was a complicated yet simple woman. Most of us could only hope to have the grace and forgiveness she brought. Anyone that had the privilege to know Jill will tell you she was a woman not easily forgotten.
Jill is survived by daughter Julie Griffin. Her son Roger T. (Todd) Peebles and wife Jeanne. Stepson Cedric Bradley and wife Jennifer. Grandchildren Aisha Mosher, Zachary Peebles, Ryan Peebles, Josie Peebles, Samantha Stigerwalt and Chase Bradley and their families. A twin brother Jack Preston and wife Kate, Brother Scott Preston and wife Lila, Brother Don Preston and wife Pat and Sister Joy Hanley. She has several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jill was preceded in death by her husband, a brother Warren (Stub) Preston.
No calling hours will be observed. Family and friends may attend a graveside service at 11:00 AM on Friday July 18th at Sunnyside Cemetery in Centerville.
