Joan E. Biltz, 70, of Oil City, passed away Friday evening November 29, 2024 at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle following an extended illness.
Joan was born on September 23, 1954 in Warren, PA, a daughter of the late Orville and Beverly Runninger McKenzie. She was married to Robert Biltz, Sr. who preceded her in death.
Joan was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1972. Following high school, she had worked as a caregiver at a former nursing home in Pleasantville. She moved to Texas where she worked at K Mart for a number of years. She later returned to the Titusville area where she worked at Dunkin Donuts and various video rental businesses. She finished her career as a caregiver for numerous local private families.
She enjoyed facetime with family and friends; listening to music, and dancing, especially to an old local band called Bo Roth. Joan had attended Calvary Temple Church in Oil City. Joan will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and giving heart. She always made sure that everyone else was taken care of by putting their needs before hers.
She was a great sibling to her younger siblings. Her siblings could not have had a nicer and more loving and caring sister than Joan. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those lives that were touched by her kind words and helping hands.
Joan is survived by her companion, Wendell Smith of Oil City; her son, Robert Biltz, Jr. and companion Ashley Colefish of Titusville; grandchildren, Aleena and Brady Biltz; sisters, Margaret “Peggy” McKenzie of Texas, Sharon Horn and husband Craig, and Susan McKenzie and companion Lew Fisher, all of Oil City, and Marcia Moon and companion Jeff Nelson of Titusville; brothers, Eugene McKenzie and wife April of Oil City, Dale Richard McKenzie of Texas, Kelly W. McKenzie and wife Holly, and Lowell John Thomas Jr. and wife Sharon, all of Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
No public calling hours will be observed.
A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at a later date.
