Joan M. Watson, 70, of Pittsburgh, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026 in Pittsburgh. Joan was born on September 1, 1955 in Allegheny County, PA to the late Charles Richard and Marian Ruth Basinger Prenatt. She was a graduate of Indiana Area Senior High School, class of 1973, in Indiana, PA, and briefly attended college at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Joan’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment. She was passionate about healthy eating and spending time in nature. She enjoyed singing in church, watching movies, playing cards and board games, and swimming. She was devoted to her faith, and volunteered at St. Michael Catholic School in Greenville, PA.
Joan is survived by her three children: Richard (Jennifer) Watson of Rochester, NY, Annie Watson of Pittsburgh, and Joan IrVina (Vladimir Gil) Watson of Moon Township; seven grandchildren: Roman Watson Bush, Benjamin Watson, Edward Watson, Mary Emmelise Watson, Immanuel Gil Watson, Ciana Gil Watson, and Isabel Gil Watson; her brothers and sisters: LaRea Staub, Charles Prenatt Jr. (Cheri, late), John Prenatt, Elizabeth Lesser (J. David), Franklin Prenatt, Mary Knuth (Randy), Joseph Prenatt (Deanna), Carol Stevens (William), William Prenatt (Natali), and David Prenatt (Debra). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Robert Prenatt (Lynne, surviving) and niece Jessica Lesser.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, PA 16354 on Thursday January 15th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30 AM at St. Titus Church 513 W. Main Street Titusville, PA with Fr. Daniel Hoffman as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Catherines Cemetery.
