John M. Hoden, 73, of Titusville passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
John was born on July 17, 1949, in Warren to the late Steve and Mary (Bires) Hoden.
He was a graduate of Sheffield High School, class of 1968.
John was a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1973.
He was employed by Penn DOT and earned a degree in civil engineering from Gannon University while working. After retiring he owned and operated Hoden Excavating.
John was a member of St. Titus Church in Titusville. He was a State Commander for the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) in 1984 and 1985, and an adjutant to the National Commander of the DAV. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited and a life member of the DAV.
He enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing.
John is survived by a brother, Steven (Darielle) Hoden of Warren; sisters, Kristine (Richard) Myers of Warren, Renee (Brian) Carlson of Hoschton, GA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia (Patty) Cotton-Hoden on November 19, 2022.
Visitation will be at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354, on Sunday, May 21st from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 22nd at 10 a.m. at St. Titus Church.
Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Sheffield.
