John M. Homer, 78, of Titusville, passed away Friday morning July 18, 2025 at his home following an extended illness.
John was born on January 12, 1947 in Titusville, PA, a son of the late Edward and Rita Ruot Homer. He was married to Susan Quick on October 12, 2012 in Titusville.
John was a graduate of West Hickory High School, class of 1966. John was a veteran having served three tours in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. John was owner of the former Homer Wood and currently of Story Book Floors. He also opened the former R & H Sporting Goods store in Titusville many years ago. He loved logging, working in the woods, hunting, building projects and architecture evident in his home that he enjoyed. He also loved traveling to France, home of his ancestors.
He was a member of St. Walburga Church and attended St. Titus Church. He most recently was a member of the Church of God at Connoquenessing.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children, Marcus and Luke Homer, and Austin and Autumn Frater; three sisters, Lorraine Baker and husband Brian of Titusville, Denise Goodwin and husband Michael of Blooming Glen, PA, and Michelle Fitzgerald and husband Ray of Brookville; and numerous extended family members including nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held for the family.
The family asks that in his memory, family and friends may plant a tree from any local nursery supporting our local businesses which John would deeply appreciate.
