John Hunt

John N. Hunt, 74, of Townville, passed away Sunday morning May 24, 2026 at his home following a brief illness.

John was born on July 10, 1951 in Titusville, PA, a son of the late Norris and Sara Heahn Hunt. He was married to Joanne Murphy on October 17, 1970 at the Breedtown Baptist Church.

John had been a logger most of his working career.

He was a social member of the local VFW, American Legion and at the Elks Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

John is survived by his wife Joanne of Townville; his children, Shelby Dougherty and companion Patrick Daley of Hydetown, Angie Hunt and companion Johnny Phillips of Titusville and John Hunt II and wife Sarah of Eldersburg, MD; grandchildren, Tyler Deeter, Tiela Hunt, Denver Hunt, Courtney Jackson, Cody and Nathan Schueler, Ben and Alice Hunt; great grandchildren, Kayden, Annabelle, Ainsley, Piper, Daxton and Sophia; sisters, Irene Hunt of Titusville and Mary Jane Caldwell of Erie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracey Marie Hunt Frederick; granddaughters, Catie and Katherine Hunt; a sister, Sheri Claypoole; and infant sister, Benita Hunt; and a brother, Charles Hunt.

No public services will be conducted.
