Jon A. Rodgers, 62, of Hydetown passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Jon was born on August 14, 1962, in Titusville, a son of the late Wayne M. and Marlene Hartwick Rodgers. He married Rose Geiger on August 31, 1996, at the Troy Center United Methodist Church.
He attended Titusville Area Schools.
He worked as a self-employed logger, a flagger and various other jobs.
Jon was an avid fisherman, he enjoyed fishing at Woodcock, Tionesta and Kinzua Dam. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, tinkering with small engines and vehicles, helping others and spending time with his family. He was such a giving person, he was also a CORE donor.
Jon is survived by his loving wife Rose of 40 years; his 3 children, James Nunemaker of Centerville, Amy Riley and husband Corey of Pleasantville, Shawn Rodgers and wife Joann of Meadville; 5 grandchildren, Tristan Riley and significant other Amber, Chloe Riley and significant other Alex, Colton, Casen, and Jaden Nunemaker; 2 great grandchildren, Bentley Pierce and Emery Fike; 4 step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren; his 2 brothers, Wayne "Mike" Rodgers and Donald Rodgers of Titusville; his 4 sisters, Linda Rodgers and husband Bill of Ridgeville, SC, Rita Jolly and husband Eugene of Holley, NY, Tonia McGarvie and husband Greg of Centerville, Beth Beers and husband Stub of Titusville; and many close family friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Rashell Rodgers and Ruby Britt.
A private memorial service will be held at a date.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Rose Rodgers or the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. website to plant a tree in Jon's memory.
