Karol G. Hartley, 72, of Titusville, passed away Saturday evening at Titusville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.
Karol was born on March 3, 1953 in Titusville, a daughter of the late George and Ruth Severance Graham. She was previously married to Christopher "Kris" Carlin who preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Colestock High School, class of 1971. She had been employed since 1972 at the Titusville Herald in various capacities until her retirement from there in 2022 as the business manager.
Karol had formerly attended St. Titus Church. She was a former member of the Titusville Moose Club. She had served as secretary of the Titusville Senior Center Board.
Karol enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Erin Covell and husband Brent of Titusville and Dwayne Carlin and wife Heather of Jersey Shore, PA; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Molly Covell of Titusville and Madison and Ian Carlin of Jersey Shore; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Carlin and wife Debbie of Pleasantville, Kim Carlin of Edinboro, Judy Sherrell and husband Carl of Weston, WV, Jody Burt and husband Mike of Titusville and Toby Carlin of McKees Rocks, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
As an only child, she had close lifelong friends that were like family to her, as well as her former in-laws, Ken Hartley and Marian Hartley.
The family will receive friends on Friday December 12th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, PA 16354.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Titusville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for their sincere care of Karol as well as Asera Care Hospice. A special heartfelt thanks to Danielle Warner for her dedicated care.
