Kim Nelson Obituary

Kim L. Nelson, 64, of Meadville, passed away on April 16, 2024, at the Meadville Medical Center.

Kim was born in Titusville on September 24, 1959, to the late Timothy Nelson and Sandra Schussler Broadhurst. She married Mark Foster on February 27, 2002, in Midland Texas.

She was a graduate of Titusville High School, Class of 1977. She attended Toni and Guy Hairdressing Academy after high school, and Midland College for Drug and Alcohol counseling.

Kim was previously the manager at IHOP in Highland Village, TX, for several years before retiring in 2017. She was also the manager of the Midland Animal Shelter, in Midland, TX.

Kim was a beloved individual known for her generous spirit and love for family and dogs. She will be remembered for her enthusiasm for Yahtzee, board games, card games, and Pokémon trading cards, as well as her passion for turkey hunting, fishing, and shooting. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by her kindness and joy for life.

Kim is survived by her husband, Mark Foster of Meadville; a son, John Vroman of Meadville; two daughters, Teanna Vroman and companion Aaron Wheeler of Townville, and Jessica Oakes of Titusville; two grandchildren, Jason Oakes and wife Linsey of Titusville, and Breanna Vroman of Meadville; a sister, Kathy Feroz and husband Ronald of Titusville; a brother-in-law, David Foster of Brampton Ontario; a sister-in-law, Allanha Harte and husband Neill of Brampton Ontario; her "angel girl" niece, Heather Fox of Oil City; Numerous nieces and nephews; many beloved friends in Texas, and her IHOP family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Cindy Snyder and Karen Nelson; and her niece Beth Falco.

Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washinton St. Titusville, on Friday April 19th, from 5-7 p.m. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Jerome Alsdorf officiating.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to a local animal shelter of one's choice.
