Larry R. VanCise

Larry Ray VanCise passed away at Meadville Medical Center on Thursday, March 9, 2023 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Larry was born on December 22, 1952 in Titusville, a son of Ray E. VanCise and Evelyn R. (Magee) Manninen.

He was a 1970 graduate of Townville High School. Larry married Sandra J. Armstrong on June 1, 1974.

Larry owned and operated VanCise Lumber Company. In addition, he was employed by Eager Beaver Lumber Company, True Temper, Rex Carpenter Packing Company and Tanner Lumber Company.

Larry enjoyed numerous hobbies including fishing, hunting, and making his own maple syrup. He enjoyed spending time with his family and hosting a daily coffee club for his friends.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, Larry is survived by his two children: Angela Noland and her husband David of Nokesville, Virginia; William VanCise and his wife Catherine of Poolesville, Maryland; his sister Karen Tew and her husband Larry of Fayetteville, North Carolina and his brother Terry VanCise and his wife Judy of Titusville. Larry is also survived by his 6 grandchildren: Ava, Benjamin, Cecilia, Samuel, Elizabeth, and Madeleine, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 12th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, PA 16354. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Glen VanCise officiating. 

The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Townville Volunteer Fire Department.
