Leslie “Lucky” Pettit Obituary

Leslie Deforest "Lucky" Pettit, 88 of Titusville, Pennsylvania died very peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

He was born February 13, 1937 in Little Cooley, PA to Jim and Erma Pettit. He graduated from Titusville High School class of 55'. Lucky proudly served as an Artillery Mechanic in the United States Army in 1960-66 and married the love of his life Marjory "Marge" Haskell that same year. Lucky and Marge shared 56 beautiful years together before she passed away.

Lucky was preceded in death by his devoted parents, loving wife and siblings. His enduring love and spirit will continue through his four children: Blaine Pettit (wife Tracey), Kimberly Kutlenios (husband Dave), Todd Pettit (wife Vikki), and Steve Pettit (wife Jessica).

Lucky's loving spirit will forever be cherished in the hearts of his grandchildren: Tyler, Wyatt, Ashley (husband Elyn) Devon, and Taylor (husband Nicholas).

Lucky adored life on his farm, where he tended to his garden and cared for his beloved animals - especially the chickens, but also his goats and cows. In his downtime, Lucky was always coming up with new creative projects around the house and cracking jokes. He had a few favorite things in life: a rich cup of coffee, gathering around a crackling campfire, and indulging in sweet treats.

Lucky will be remembered as a pillar of strength, cherished by his family who loved him with all their hearts and who will deeply miss his guidance, love, and presence in their lives. With heavy hearts, his family finds comfort in the knowledge that Lucky's soul is now at peace with God, and cherishes the sweet thought of him reunited with the love of his life, Marge.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Titusville, PA

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project, per his wishes.

The name Lucky will forever be etched in our family's history, cherished by generations to come.
