Lucy A. Vandervort, 79, of Troy Center Rd., Titusville passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.
Lucy was born on September 13, 1944, in Ringgold to the late Lennie and Hazel (Reed) Himes. She married James L. Vandervort on May 15, 1965, in Ringgold. Mr. Vandervort preceded her in death on October 11, 2010.
She was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School, class of 1962.
Lucy was a member of the former Diamond Evangelical United Methodist Church. She was active in the Women's Society and the Homemakers. She enjoyed golfing at Green Acres Golf Course with her husband in the Friday Night Couples League and with her lady friends on the Wednesday night league. She crocheted quilts for her grandchildren, enjoyed reading, playing dominoes with her friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a loving mother to Pamela Spoharski and husband L. Steven Jr. of Titusville, Debbie Seeley of Titusville, Tracey Sansom and husband Steven of Centerville; grandchildren, Stanley Spoharski and wife Jordan of Missoula, MT, Michael Spoharski of Titusville, Brooke Loney and husband Tyler of Pleasantville, Nathan Seeley, Tanner Seeley both of Titusville, Abby Trypus and husband Matt of Centerville, Lea Sansom of Guys Mills, Faith Nageotte and husband Kacey of Guys Mills; great-grandchildren, Charlie May Spoharski, Taylor, Olivia, and Wyatt Loney, Peyton and Abel Seeley, Jon and Charlotte Trypus and Lyndee Nageotte; sisters, Lois Richards of Erie, Velma Smouse of Dubois; a brother-in-law, Dale Minick of Punxsutawney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lucy was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 6 sisters.
Visitation will be at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Wednesday, October 25th from 6 to 8 pm and Thursday October 26th from the Titusville Free Methodist Church 42490 State Rt 27, Titusville from 10 to 11 am with the funeral service to follow conducted by Pastor Jerome Alsdorf. He was her pastor at the former Diamond E.U.M. Church.
Interment will be in Diamond Cemetery.
