Lyle Langdon Obituary

Rev. Lyle L. Langdon, 100, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at his residence.

Lyle was born October 4, 1923, in Kane, PA, to the late Robert and Frances Weeks Langdon. He married Betty Smith on December 8, 1945. She preceded him in death on November 3, 1985. He married Louanne Ewing on April 18, 1987, in Titusville, and she preceded him in death on February 10, 2013.

He was a graduate of Kane High School, Class of 1941. He was a veteran, having served in the US Army Air Corp. during WWII, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

Lyle worked as a machinist at Hillcrest Manufacturing in Pleasantville and later as vice president of sales for Grand Valley Manufacturing in Titusville.

In 1972, he graduated from Circleville Bible College and began his career in ministry. He pastored Wesleyan Methodist Churches in Coryville and Farmers Valley, PA, Vestal, NY, and Oil City.

He was a current member of the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church.

Lyle enjoyed archery and all activities that his children were involved in, including the neighborhood kids. He was a kind and gracious man who was dedicated to his family and church family.

He is survived by four children, Robert Langdon and wife Nancy of Clearwater, FL, Rev. Gordon Langdon and wife Joyce of Silva, MO, Gary Langdon and wife Debbie of Sedalia, MO, and Dorothy Mangel of Titusville; 10 grandchildren, Jacob Langdon and wife Kelly, Bryan Langdon and wife Jennifer, Jeffrey Langdon and wife Amber, Bradley Langdon and wife Laura, Laura Peterson and fiancé Bryan Moon, Joshua Langdon, Jeremy Langdon and wife Meghann, John Mangel and wife Kelly, Carol Loomis and husband Andy, and Rebecca Mott and husband Adam; 20 great-grandchildren; 11 great great-grandchildren; his brother Mark Langdon; a special nephew Kenneth R. Langdon; and numerous additional nieces and nephews.

Lyle was preceded in death by three brothers, Roger, Milton and Gordon Langdon.

Visitation will be held at Titusville Wesleyan Church 102 E. Spruce St., Titusville on Friday June 14th from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at which time a funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Scott Bennett, officiating.

Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Pleasantville with full military honors being observed.
