Margaret S. Fenstermaker, 92, of Titusville, passed away Thursday evening August 15, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
Margaret was born on September 4, 1931 in Titusville, PA, a daughter of the late Harold and Florence Twombly Straub. She was married to LeRoy Fenstermaker on June 14, 1953. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1999.
Margaret grew up in Petroleum Center and went to the Plumer School before coming to Titusville. Margaret was a graduate of Colestock High School, class of 1949.
She had been employed behind the soda counter at the former E.K. Thompson Drug Store and also at the former G.C. Murphy store. She worked at Adam’s – Dalton Insurance, and Marsh Gage Pole as a secretary, at Fisher and Young Lumber in the retail store, and last at Integra Bank, formerly Pennsylvania Bank and Trust Company, in the human resource department from where she retired after 27 years.
She was also a volunteer at Love, Inc. in Titusville and had worked at the Cherrytree Township voting polls for many years. Margaret was a member of Life Springs Worship Center where she was very active, supporting the ladies group and duplicating CD’s for the pastor’s sermons. She loved and served her Lord Jesus Christ from a young girl until her passing. She was a woman of integrity, one who walked the walk and would help anyone in need.
Margaret enjoyed her vegetable garden and flower gardens. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking for family functions and holidays. She was known for her pie crusts and even made pies for the former Blue Canoe. She enjoyed traveling to Arizona and Ohio to visit her family.
Margaret is survived by her children, Bruce L. Fenstermaker and wife Barbara of Titusville, Thomas A. Fenstermaker and wife Jayne of Warren, OH, and Gary E. Fenstermaker and fiancée Paciencia Taneo of Snowflake, AZ; 8 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Straub; and two sisters, Florence Carter and Betty Fenstermaker.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Life Springs Worship Center 134 E. Central Ave. Titusville, PA. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM
Private interment will be in Kerr Hill Cemetery.
