Margaret J. Metzgar, 86, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Edinboro Manor after an extended illness.
Margaret was born in Centerville on March 28, 1938, to the late John H. and Josephine I. Billig Stevens.
She was a graduate of Colestock High School.
Margaret worked in the business department at the Titusville Area Hospital for 30 years.
She enjoyed watching horse shows, was an avid reader, and loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by two children, Christine Ward and husband Dennis of Erie, and Joanne Scouten and husband Scott of Spartansburg; five grandchildren, Stephanie Sutton, John Metzgar, Jr., and wife Sarah, Shawn Scouten and wife Brittany, Daniel Scouten, Kyle Scouten and wife Cierra; seven great-grandchildren, Haley, Logan, Jaxson Sutton, Madelyn and Cole Metzgar, Bodey and Julianna Scouten; and her precious cat, Bella.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Metzgar, Sr.; and former husband Ronald L. Metzgar.
Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc., 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, on Sunday, March 30th, from 4 to 5 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be conducted with pastor Bob Hawk, officiating.
Interment will be at Union Cemetery.
