Margaret Ann Hatcher Shontz, 95, of Hydetown, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Margaret was born on March 24, 1928, in Knoxville, TN, to the late Jesse L. and Katherine Hayes Hatcher. She married Lloyd W. Shontz, Sr. on February 23, 1947, in Sarasota, FL. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2000.
She attended schools in Sarasota, FL.
Margaret was a member of the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church and former member of East Troy Community Church.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, sewing, reading, singing, crocheting, gardening, canning, and being with her family, especially her grandchildren,
Margaret is survived by two sons, Tommy Lee Shontz and wife Tina of Surprise, AZ and Paul Shontz and wife Rachael of Titusville; seven daughters, Grace Dingle of Titusville, Vanessa Shontz of Meadville, Dolly Shontz of Hydetown, Doris Graham and husband Tim, and Betty Shontz of Titusville, Naomi Shontz of Oil City, and Pauline Young of New Castle; a brother, Lyndell Hatcher and wife Sandra of Murphysboro, TN; 24 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Charles E. Shontz, Lloyd W. "Bud" Shontz, Jr, and John M. Shontz.; and a daughter, Violet Ann Shontz; and her siblings, Betty Bozart, Racheal Neidwinski, Linda Hardeschell, Tommy Lee Hatcher, Doris Hatcher, and Hayes Hatcher.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6th at the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church 102 E. Spruce St. Titusville from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at which time a funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Scott Bennett, officiating.

Interment will be at Diamond Cemetery.
