Marguerite J. "Peggy" Logsdon, 86, formerly of Titusville, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
Peggy was born on August 15, 1938, in Titusville to the late Wellington L. Hopkins and Ruth A. Twombly Weldon. She married William T. "Tom" Logsdon in Titusville on December 20, 1957. He passed away on February 23, 1998.
She was a graduate of Colestock High School.
Peggy worked for Welch's Grape Juice and drove a bus for Titusville School District for over 40 years until her retirement.
She was a founding member of the Red Hat Society in Titusville.
Peggy was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest. She raised five children and faced widowhood before the age of 60 with unwavering strength. Later in life, she embraced adventure by going skydiving and swimming with sharks in Hawaii. She enjoyed singing karaoke with her friends while living in Florida. Peggy was deeply dedicated to serving and connecting with others through her involvement in her church, Alcoholics Anonymous, and the senior center. Her indomitable spirit and zest for life will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her five children, Thomas A. "Tink" Logsdon and companion Amy VanCise, Terri Ann Wig and husband Ron of Titusville, Todd A. Logsdon and wife Rose of Wallingford, CT, Sam Logsdon and wife Kris of Titusville, and Pamela Sibley and husband Matt of Loja, Ecuador; grandchildren, Nicholas Wig and wife Emily, Christopher Wig and companion Julia Albert, Savannah Logsdon, William Logsdon, Christiana Logsdon, Katherine Mamed and companion Tim Lynch, Samantha Wojnarowski and husband Kyle, Jan Logsdon and companion Dustin Kabelitz, and Thomas Logsdon; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her siblings Terry Hopkins and Annette Grover, her infant brother David Hopkins, and her stepfather Bud Weldon.
Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with Mrs. Jacqueline Wagner officiating.
Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Pleasantville.
