Maria A. Abrigo

            Maria Abrigo, 42, of Titusville, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the Titusville Area Hospital following a recurrence of her cancer.

            Maria was born on August 4, 1980 in Titusville, a daughter of Nicholas and Janet Galletta Matkozich.  She was married to Sheldon Abrigo on November 3, 2018.

            She was a graduate of Titusville High School and subsequently obtained a degree in criminal justice.

            Maria particularly enjoyed and treasured her friends and her step-children whom she loved dearly.  She adored being a step-mom and all children were her true passion.

            She was a fierce advocate for all animals, especially loved her beloved cat “Whisper” who survives.  She was a loyal Buffalo Bills fan.  She loved to paint and was an excellent artist, often gifting her family and friends with her paintings.  She had a wicked sense of humor and was ridiculously smart.

            Maria is survived by her parents and husband of Titusville; her step-children, Dahnae, Mahlek, Zahrea, Jahvon and Kahlil; her brother, Patrick Matkozich and wife Jayme; her cousin, Sal Galletta and wife Autumn with whom she was especially close; her very special niece, Madilyn; her sister-in-law, Marcia; her in-laws, Lennox and Pamela Abrigo; her aunts and uncles, Timothy and Joanne Clark, John and Connie Galletta, Ginger McCann and Jan Matkozich; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews as well as the extended Abrigo family.

            No public calling hours will be observed.  A celebration of Maria’s life will he held on Saturday August 5, 2023.
