Marjorie Ames Obituary

Marjorie A. "Margie" Ames, 75, of Titusville, went home with her lord and savior on Thursday, March 20, 2025, surrounded by her three children.

Margie was born August 21, 1949, in Titusville to the late Arthur and Barbara Weidner Hicks. She married Glenn "Bubba" Ames on August 21, 1999, who preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of Titusville High School, Class of 1967.

Margie was a waitress and cook at many local restaurants in Titusville and was the manager of the former Sunoco A+.

She enjoyed birdwatching, wildlife observation, hunting, canning, campfires, gardening, and picnics. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the main purpose of her life. She loved family meals, especially during the holidays, and her "weasel parties."

Margie is survived by her three children, Rich Grove and partner Summer Harris and her children Hannah and Tanner of Oil City, Charli Brunst and husband Dan of Spartansburg, and Amanda Bruce of Greene Twp, PA; grandchildren, Katie Childers and husband Kory, Crissy Williams and husband Branden, Cody Brunst and wife Taneeka, Kaleb Brunst, and Cameron Phelps; great-grandchildren, Eliott, Amara, Marty, John, Joe, Ellie, Briar, Avery, Holdyn, Lainey, with two more coming in September; her brother, James Hicks and wife Chris; her aunt, Midge Weidner; a sister-in-law, Susan Hicks; and several close cousins.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Roger Grove, her infant son Jason James, her second husband Joseph Bruce, and her brother Norman Hicks.

Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 6 PM to 8 PM. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 25, at 11 AM, at the First Methodist Church, 302 W. Walnut St, Titusville, PA 16354.

Interment will be at Union Cemetery.
