Marjorie Steffens Obituary

   Marjorie Anne Steffens, 94, of Spring Creek passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the Titusville Area Hospital.

   Marjorie was born on February 22, 1929, to the late Samuel and Lillian (Waid) Thompson.

   She was a graduate of Youngsville High School, class of 1947. After graduation, she moved to Washington D.C. and worked for the F.B.I. for 9 months. She returned home and married Jesse John Brenizer with whom she had 6 children. After their divorce she met Edward C. Steffens and the two were married on June 10, 1961, and they had 5 more children.

   Marjorie was a stay-at-home mom for her children working on the family farm and her children claim her favorite song to be "Blessed Quietness."

   She was active in the P.T.A. at West Spring Creek Elementary School, taught Sunday School at Cobb Corners Community Church, and Midway Alliance Church, where she also served on the board until the time of her death. She helped do home care for several elderly neighbors for many years. In addition, she worked for Blair Corporation for several years before her retirement. She served as President of the East Branch Cemetery Association for many years.

   Marjorie will be remembered for her love of quilting which she made so many quilts for family members and high school graduates and also for her enjoyment of watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

   She is survived by her children, Peggy (David) Chapman of Warren, Densie Marie Wyman of Myrtle Beach, SC, Nancy Steffens and companion Ralph Bonini of Youngsville, Mildred Steffens of Spring Creek, Mary Anne Steffens of Spring Creek, Charles (Mary Beth) Steffens of Spring Creek, Lee (Joe) Campbell of Spring Creek; daughter-in-law, Gladys Brenizer of Titusville; 23 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 20 great great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Janice Thompson, Yvonne Thompson, Maggie Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

   Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Steffens on May 30, 1991; her stepmother, Densie Thompson Emerson; sons, Jesse John Brenizer Jr, Clyde Edward Brenizer, Enos Brenizer, Barry Brenizer; brothers and sisters, Joyce Brown, Clarence Thompson, Mary Gibson, Leon Thompson, Glenn Thompson, Donald Thompson, Thomas Neil Thompson; and 2 granddaughters.

   Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 7th from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Midway Alliance Church 6330 Oil Creek Rd. Spartansburg, PA 16434, with the funeral service to follow conducted by Rev. Eric Swartzbaugh.

   Interment will be in East Branch Cemetery.

   Memorial contributions can be made to the Midway Alliance Church to help with improving handicap accessibility.
